The attacker has scored 5 finishes in ten La Liga matches during the current campaign.

Los Merengues attacker Vinicius Jr has expressed regret to the fanbase for his response when substituted in Sunday's fiery Clasico clash victory.

Vinicius was taken off in the second half and expressed his annoyance by walking immediately off the pitch.

He subsequently came back to the sidelines and, after his side's narrow triumph, tried to confront the opposition's opposing player during unsavoury final whistle scenes.

"Now I want to say sorry to all the Madridistas for my behavior when I was taken off in the derby," he shared on social media.

"In the same way as I have said in person during today's session, I wish to express regret anew to my team-mates, the organization, and the president.

"At times emotion takes over me because I constantly desire to win and assist my team. My winning mentality comes from the love I feel for this club and all it stands for."

The player joined Real from his former club in recent years for £38.7m and has notched 111 goals in numerous matches.

But his future in the Madrid is unclear with reports in recent months suggesting that Los Blancos would contemplate letting the player leave if they obtained a suitable offer.

When Vinicius was taken off on that day, broadcast footage from coverage provider Dazn captured him remarking: "It's always me! I'm departing the side! It's wiser if I leave, I'm leaving."

In his latest message on social media, he commented: "I vow to keep fighting at all times for the welfare of the club, as I have done since the first day."
