Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere (1.15pm) Preview
This prestigious juvenile colts race pits top French prospects versus an important runner representing Ballydoyle. Unbeaten Graffard’s Rayif along with Head’s Nighttime take on Ballydoyle’s Puerto Rico from Ballydoyle. The favourite won the Prix Francois Boutin in his previous start, while Nighttime, holding a strong record, is also a Group Three winner, after secured a Group Three at Longchamp at the course and distance back in September. The O’Brien contender was busier than his rivals and recorded his first win just in his most recent outing, taking the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster. He was an outsider for an O’Brien entrant , but a top choices did not deliver, he remains a solid 9-2 chance among bookies. The Solario Stakes victor, who took a Group Three following a four-way photo, deserves warrants his place in the field, like from Charlie Appleby Time To Turn (Appleby), a Listed winner on the Ascot track during July.

Analysis of the 12.40pm Race
Following a four-year run from 2018 during which the Boussac winner did not record a subsequent win, this most prestigious event for juvenile fillies has regained a little strength in recent years including Blue Rose Cen along with Opera Singer (2023) both achieving Group One victories as three-year-olds and last year’s runner-up, who just missed by a longshot stablemate 12 months after being an odds-on favourite, claimed the French 1,000 Guineas during the spring. Green Spirit, with a clean slate in four starts which included the Prix D’Aumale at this track last time out, heads the local challenge today and leads the ratings. However the O’Brien-trained The unbeaten Diamond Necklace is also perfect – after two starts – , so should provide a tough challenge. Diamond Necklace took a Listed race during Champions Weekend this autumn and a victory for the daughter of St Mark’s Basilica could mark a big moment for the stallion. Combined, the top two according to odds account for around 70% of the betting, but we have additional entrants that deserve attention. The unbeaten Ozone is also unbeaten in two, albeit at relatively minor tracks, last time out taking a Listed race on the Lyon track. Additionally, from Karl Burke Aylin won the May Hill Stakes in Doncaster most recently and the yard could not be more in form.
PICK: DIAMOND NECKLACE
