Explore Twenty-Nine New Cards from Magic's TMNT Expansion (Featuring a Commander-Style Deck!)
Everyone's beloved pizza-loving heroes are coming to Magic: The Gathering. The well-known TCG's publisher, the game's creators, announced a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion during a exclusive event hosted at NYCC. Could this be a exciting new set or simply another Universes Beyond cash grab? We'll let you be the judge.
Check out here at everything revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, including key context. All items mentioned here launches on March 6, 2026, except for one item — a special Pizza Bundle drops a few weeks later on March 27th.
MTG x TMNT: Core Set Reveals
Before diving into the many special decks and bundles available, we’ll examine at the full lineup from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion that were revealed by the developers. Standard booster packs for the set are priced at $6.99 each, while Collector Boosters are priced at $37.99 per pack.
Let's unpack a few shell-shocking details. First, a new gameplay mechanic named Sneak Attack, which is a riff on the already established Ninjutsu ability, where players can play powerful creatures into the battlefield whenever an attacker goes unblocked. The big difference here is that Sneak can apply to non-creature spells as well. Wizards also took the opportunity to refine the ability a bit (Sneak counts as casting, unlike Ninjutsu). Ninjutsu isn't going away, but chances are we'll see the new mechanic in upcoming expansions from now on.
“If we ever go back to Kamigawa, we might use the original ability since that plane is it originated and it’s a hallmark of that world,” an experienced game designer stated. “But on other planes, because the rules are cleaner and the new ability is what's going to be Standard-legal, it’s probable we’ll use the updated version.”
Another version of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai, is one of four cards with special art designed specifically for the set by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles original artist Kevin Eastman.
Oh, and, should you be surprised by the card text on Turtles Forever, which allows playing cards outside of your main deck, many players were. But according to the developers, it’s now a official card in every format of Magic.
In any case, below are the highly unusual land cards with full art from this set:
Following Wizards of the Coast's current policy, all these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard play. The designers state they were careful to ensure the cards and mechanics worked smoothly with current Standard expansions such as Edge of Eternities.
“I headed the design for over a year and we were aware it was going to be Standard-legal and what other sets were going to be near it in standard,” the designer says. “Our goal was to ensure that there's synergy with certain expansions including Edge of Eternities.”
As an instance, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a blue-red archetype built around artifact cards.
“They combine to provide the pieces for a fun Standard deck,” he added.
Commander Deck: Turtle Power!
Following a decision to create any Commander precons for Spider-Man and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, the company is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only a single precon, but it does come with six different legendary creatures that can serve as your commander depending on how you pair them (five of the cards have a special Partner mechanic named “Character Select” that lets you start with two commanders in the command zone rather than only one). Check them out for yourself:
The Turtle Power deck is set at $69.99, though that could easily go up due to demand. Sources indicated that it includes 43 new cards altogether, which translates to an additional 37 Turtle-themed game cards in addition to the six legendary creatures pictured above. (Doing some rough math, this suggests about 20 reprinted cards if we assume the deck includes 37 land cards.)
How will the TMNT version of the iconic Sol Ring look like? Fans must wait and see.
Standard Bundle (Standard Edition)
Typically, Wizards is offering a bundle. This one is priced at $69.99 and includes the following:

- 15 Non-foil land cards
- Two Reference cards
- One Foil promo card

Pizza Bundle
Here’s a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, mostly in that it comes in what looks like a pizza delivery box. Every Pizza Bundle is priced at $99.99 and includes the items below:

- 1 Premium Booster
- Twenty-five Regular pizza lands
- 5 Foil pizza basic lands
- Two Foil Pizza Bundle promotional cards

If you’re wondering what a “Pizza Bundle promo card” means, it’s essentially a reprinted older card with brand-new Turtle-themed artwork. The team revealed one for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual depicting master Splinter adding toppings onto a pizza slice. There are six distinct Pizza Bundle promo cards in total.
This special bundle releases a couple of weeks later than the core set on March 27, 2026.
Draft Night
This special bundle is designed for a four-person draft and costs $119.99. It includes:

Cooperative Play Set
Lastly, the developers are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its ongoing effort to develop Magic game products specifically for beginners. Here, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of decks that allow two players team up against a “Boss” deck that pilots itself.
The concept here that every Boss card gives special abilities to the creatures contained in the boss deck. Each Boss automatically casts an additional card per turn, and you’ll start off battling {one Boss|
